This policy is written in plain English. We collect the minimum information needed to run the service, we do not sell your data, and we follow the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1. Who we are

Merebase is a custom business app builder for small business. We are operated by MOHO & Cave Pty Ltd, ABN 27 657 476 563, operating as Merebase.

This policy applies to all personal information collected through the Merebase website, build description forms, email communications, and any other interaction with our service.

Questions about this policy can be directed to hello@merebase.com.

2. What information we collect

Build descriptions

When you describe what you want built, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), business name, and the description of the app you want. This information is used to assess your build description and prepare a build scope.

Account information

If you create an account to manage builds or a monthly plan, we collect your name and email address. Passwords are stored in hashed form and are not accessible to us.

Payment information

Payments are processed by a third party payment processor. We do not store credit card numbers or payment credentials. We receive confirmation of payment and a transaction reference. The payment processor's privacy policy governs how your payment data is handled.

Communications

When you email us or communicate with our team, we retain those communications for the purpose of managing your build and resolving any issues.

Usage data

We collect basic analytics on site visits including page views, referral source, and general geographic region. This data is aggregated and not linked to individuals. We do not use advertising tracking or cross site behavioural tracking.

  • Deliver your completed build and send your download link and setup word
  • Manage monthly plan accounts and billing
  • Respond to support requests and scoped task descriptions
  • Improve the service based on usage patterns
  • Meet our legal and tax obligations

We do not sell personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising purposes.

4. Who we share your information with

We share personal information only where necessary to deliver the service:

  • Payment processor: to handle your transaction securely
  • Email delivery service: to send your build delivery emails, build scopes, and communications
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers: who store data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations

We do not share personal information with marketers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties. Any service provider we use is required to handle your information in accordance with Australian privacy law.

5. The Launchpad

Standard, Express, and Installed builds are listed on the Merebase Launchpad as Originals unless the Private build tier was selected. A Launchpad listing shows the app name, description, and category. No personal information about the app owner is displayed publicly as part of the listing.

If you do not want your build listed on the Launchpad, select the Private build tier at the time of your build description.
